Chronicle Books is having its Second Annual Haul-idays Giveaway...so of course I am entering. This will be my first time, though. I heard about this contest from my friends over at Teach Mentor Texts, so I had to join in.
Here's how it works:
If I am chosen, then I get to donate $500 worth of books to any charity of my choosing. I was asked to participate in World Read Aloud Day in March, sponsored by LitWorld. LitWorld promotes literacy worldwide, which is a huge undertaking that could certainly benefit from some extra books! So, that's who will get my books!
Here is the list of books I plan on donating (which could also be yours if I win!) :
- One Love
- The Ivy and Bean Secret Treasure Box
- Ivy and Bean Boxed Set 2
- Sienna's Scrapbook
- A Zeal of Zebras: An Alphabet of Collective Nouns
- Postmark Paris: A Story in Stamps
- The Gene in the Book
- The Orphan of Awkward Falls
- The Lonely Pine
- Tortilla Sun
- Noonie's Masterpiece
- Heroes of the Environment
- Animals Marco Polo Saw
- Wish
- L is for Lollygag:Quirky Words for a Clever Tongue
- The World's Greatest: Poems
- Charlotte in Giverny
- Charlotte in Paris
- Charlotte in New York
- Charlotte in London
- Living Wild: Bats
- Creepy Creatures: Mantises
- Living Wild: Gorillas
- Living Wild: Eagles
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
- The Alchemist's Cat
- Moishe's Miracle
- And the Soldiers Sang
- The Whitby WItches
- The Kid Named Pluto
- Over and Under the Snow
- The Conductor
- A Seed is Sleepy
If YOU wold like to win the $500 haul of books, become a follower and leave a comment below telling me about what you would use your books for. If I win, I will choose one of you to win these books, too! It's that simple! Good luck!
I'll be the first to comment!!! I think this is such a fun contest. Who wouldn't love a giant box of Chronicle books!?! I didn't even see those Charlotte books you listed. Will have to go check those out. And, of course, if you win you'll definitely pick me, right? Because I was the first to comment? And the books would go to all my kids - which is what I call my students - just like you call yours your babies. I do that a lot, I refer to my students as my kids and then sometimes I have to clarify that I mean my students versus my own sons. :) Glad you decided to join in! I hope LitWorld gets books from one of us!
ReplyDeleteOh! Love free books for my classroom library! My "Look! Look! New Books!" basket has been emptied -- my kids are lovin' the books! So this would be one chance to fill it up with new, new books! Thanks for the opportunity!

ReplyDeleteLet's hope I win...I would love to give some books away!
ReplyDeleteI teach Reading and Social Studies to 5th graders. My students are really enjoying reading time this year. I created a reading area with pillows for them to take. I have lots of books, but little by little my books are disappearing. I love the fact that they are reading!! Thank you for sharing and congratulations!!

ReplyDeleteFeel free to comment back on my post:

Miss P. Are you understanding that there are three bundles of books being given away? One to a blogger ($500) and the identical list to one of her/his commenters and then $500 in books to the charity of that bloggers choice. They get to pick their own books. $1500 in book in all!
ReplyDeleteSo your list should be what you would choose for yourself not for the charity. Now..you going to go change your list, I wonder? Keep me posted..
That being said..my grandkiddies would love, love, love your stash of books ;D

Good luck to us both.
I hope you win :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! (and great charity!)
ReplyDeleteThe WHitby Witches is on my own list, and, since we already have the Ivy and Bean books, I put the paperdolls on my list as well!
Good luck to you!
