It's Monday! What are you Reading? 3/26/12

It's Monday! What are you Reading? From Picture books to YA is a meme hosted by Jen and Kellee at TeachMentorTexts. Hop on over to their blog to see what others are reading this week!

Here are the books I read this week:

Here are the books I am working on:

I am reading Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu, and listening to the audiobook of The Touble with May Amelia by Jennifer L. Holm. This is Holm's follow up novel to Our Only May Amelia, which I have not yet read. However, from what I can tell, you do not necessarily need to read one before the other. Breadcrumbs would make and excellent read aloud from what I can tell. A mixture of realistic fiction and fantasy.

Both books that I am currently reading are very good so far, but I will tell you more about them when I finish!

What reading adventures did you take this past week, and which ones will you venture into next?

  1. Both May Amelia books are on my TBR list as well. I enjoyed Breadcrumbs ... maybe not as much as everyone else but thought it was a cool intro to the Snow Queen story. And very well written. I like her ... what were her Greek mythology books called. The Cronus Chronicles?

  2. You don't have to read the first May Amelia book before the second as Jenni Holm made it almost a stand alone, but I recommend reading the first when you are done. Enjoy Breadcrumbs- it is a magical book.

    Happy reading this week!

  3. I adore Breadcrumbs! That book made me think of all my favorites as a child. I need to read it again...

  4. Stand Tall Molly Lou Ellen is one of my FAVORITE books. I often give it as gifts to parents of little girls. So glad to see it on your list :)

  5. That should have said "Melon", but you know what I mean. It's still early over here ;)

    1. Ooh! A book about Wanda Gag! Thanks for sharing . . . I've been really enjoying many of her "new to me" titles through the Nerdcott challenge. And I just finished Breadcrumbs yesterday--enjoyed it.

  6. I love Molly Lou Melon! She is so much fun! I love David Catrow's illustrations. He has two funny books about a boy who wants an iguana and then wants his own room. I love those. Looks like a lot of fun reading!

  7. Molly Lou Melon is one of my favorite books of all time. You reminded me that I need to blog about what I found in the copy that I bought from a goodwill store. Inside was a letter that a granddaughter had written to her grandmother about how she always encouraged and inspired her. It broke my heart to think that the reason that the book was at goodwill was probably because she had passed away.

  8. Jen, Maria, and Casey-I had read Molly Lou before, but it had been awhile! It's on We Give Books right now! Go enjoy it again and donate a book in the process!

Casey- That makes me a little teary just reading about that!
Notforlunch- The Wanda Gag book is on We Give Books!
Kellee- Phew! I am glad to hear that. I felt bad. I don't like reading out of order!
